The Cotton Club 1984, Directed by Francis Ford Coppola and Choreographed by Dr. Henry LeTang starring Gregory Hines and Maurice Hines among others.

It is the story of what was a famous night club in Harlem. The story follows the people that visited the club, those that ran it, and is peppered with the Jazz music that made it so famous.

To all dancers, dance enthusiasts and tap dancers, join us in celebrating the Birthday of Teddy Hale today 02/02/??

A legendary Tap Master and National Treasure.

Hale was a major influence on Gregory Hines and his dance style and an influence on the styles of many up and coming tap dancers of his time.

In this clip from a 1949’s TV performance, Notice the breadth and smoothness of his act. Enjoy, watch and Listen to the Rhythmic Musicality and ease of his taps.

Credits to his name are the 1939 film Straight To Heaven, the 1949 episode #1.42 of the Milton Berle Show, and the 1949 Eddie Condon Floor Show episodes 1.4 and 1.5

Gregory Hines Co-Founder of the Tap Legacy™ Foundation in Hot Feet from the Broadway Show Eubie. The clip is from the 1979 Tony Awards Gregory and Maurice Hines performing.

Eubie was a revue featuring the music of Eubie Blake, lyrics by Noble Sissle, Andy Razaf, Tap Legacy™ Honorary Board Member Johnny Brandon – a 2011 Flo-Bert Honoree, F.E. Miller, and Jim Europe.

Eubie ran for 439 performances at the Ambassador Theatre NYC and opened September 20, 1978. conceived and directed by Julianne Boyd and choreographed by Billy Wilson and Tap Legacy™ Honorary Board Member Dr. Henry LeTang.
