James Buster Brown, The quintessential Gentleman.
At 16, with two friends put an Act called the Three Aces, changed it later to Speed Kings.
Buster toured with Cab Calloway, Count Basie & Dizzy Gillespie, his career highlight was with Duke Ellington Orchestra.
A member of the Original Hoofers and the Copasetics Inc.. Buster was instrumental in the tap dance rebirth of the late 1970s.
Dr. Brown danced on Broadway and Film. Known later for his Swing 46 Sunday’s Tap Jam.
Buster was awarded an honorary degree of Doctor of Performing Arts in American Dance from Oklahoma City University. Feb. 2002.
