Nemr – and rare pictures from many sources including the Tap Legacy Digital Archives.

LeRoyMyers.org launches…

January 6, 2011 By Tap Legacy

The next addition to the Tap Legacy Tribute Websites

As LeRoy Myers’ birthday right around the corner we are happy to launch the LeRoy Myers tribute site this month.

LeRoy Myers was the first member of the Tap Legacy Foundation’s Honorary Board and instrumental in the growth of the foundation during its early years. A child performer and member of multiple tap dance acts in the 30s and 40s, LeRoy was a founding member and the first President of the Copasetics, Inc.

LeRoy’s desire to see tap dance continually championed culminated in a decade long tap jam at Showmans Jazz Club, the unofficial club house of the Copasetics. The number of lives he touched were evident upon his passing, when a number of tributes were produced, including a plaque at Showmans, a renaming of the street corner where he lived, and the posthumous presentation of the Flo-Bert Award for Lifetime Achievement.

Check out the tribute website and get to know even more about LeRoy Myers – a man among men.
