The story goes that for this scene in the 1941 film Lady Be Good Eleanor Powell was to dance with a dog that performed tricks.
The studio supplied her with a variety of dogs, unfortunately none worked out.
Eleanor got this dog herself and trained it working in her living room, and it worked great. When the time came to shoot the scene at the studio, the dog will not perform or repeat any of the tricks , so they shot the scene in Eleanor’s own living room in her house.
Enjoy the The Queen of Tap as she was known… And hopefully the performing dog will put a smile on your day.
