Skip was known by many as the last great song and dance man. Started Tap Dancing at the age of 5 with Sadie Bruce as his mentor, by the age of 10 he had won every dance competition in Chicago.
His career as a tap dancer and singer spans a wide range alongside Tony Bennett, Johnny Carson, Nat King Cole, Bill Cosby, Lionel Hampton, Bob Hope, Frank Sinatra and Noble Sissle, among others.
His TV credits are The Ed Sullivan Show, The Tonight Show, and 32 appearances on The Merv Griffin Show.
He has performed on Broadway in Golden Boy and Eubie, and on the silver screen in movies such as The Cotton Club.
