To all dancers, dance enthusiasts and tap dancers, join us in celebrating the Birthday of Paul Edward Draper today 10/25/1909, born in Florence, Tuscany, Italy.
A Tap Master and National Treasure. Known as the aristocrat of tap, Mr. Draper was an International star in the 1930’s & 1940’s who brought cool intellectualism and playful wit to the dance form. He performed to everything from jazz and the bossa nova to Brahms and Scarlatti, adapting his movement to the character of the music at hand thus establishing a style very different from Bill Robinson, the Nicholas Brothers, Astaire & Kelly.
