Pete Nugent

Born, Gary Lambart Nugent
July 16, 1909 (Washington, D.C.) – 1973

Grew up in Harlem with William Chink Collins and worked in the TOBA circuit. In 1928 formed an act with Irving “Peaches” Beaman. In 1931, with the addition of Duke Miller of the Miller Brothers, formed a trio Pete, Peaches and Duke, which was known as one of the greatest class act. After the deaths of Duke and Peaches, worked as a single act and was known as “Public Tapper Number One.” During WWII, Irving Berlin cast him in This is the Army.
